Counselling and therapy in Maidstone

Welcome to Inspirational Change Therapies

My name is Susana Oppey, and I am a counsellor and BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) (provisional) with a private practice in Maidstone close to Rochester, Chatham, Aylesford and Tonbridge. I also work as a CBT therapist in an NHS Psychological Therapies Service in London.

I offer talking therapy using CBT including Compassion Focused Therapy, (CFT) and Mindfulness approaches. I see clients in Privately rented day offices in West Malling, Rochester and Tonbridge.

CBT interventions would look at how your difficulties started but focuses on how it is being maintained currently. It helps you to understand the mechanisms that keeps your difficulties going and how you can start to change them. I can work with you to inspire that change.

I have ample experience of working with client presenting with a range of mental health difficulties, using CBT as my main treatment approach. I have over ten years experience as a mental health practitioner. Eight years working as a mental health nurse (full-time) and about two years working as a CBT therapist full-time practitioner. I currently work as CBT therapist and counselor with experience in treating a range of psychological difficulties including depression, generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety, health anxiety, phobias including fear of death, panic, obsessive compulsive disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder and low self-esteem. I also have special interest in treating psychosexual difficulties using CBT approaches. I also work with clients who are struggling with work related stress, relationship difficulties, anger issues and chronic pain from long term conditions. I also have experience in working with grief and loss, guilt and shame, and sexual and other emotional abuse.

In my counselling and therapy work I aim to inspire hope in those struggling with mental health issues and looking for therapy specifically tailored to their needs. I offer individualised interventions that explores more helpful strategies with clients to enable them to cope with what can be confusing and overwhelming situations.

I inspire change by using evidence based interventions recommended by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE).

Referrals CBT therapy and counselling are welcomed from; individuals, GPs, and other health professionals or counselling agencies. I welcome any further enquiries please get in touch today and start your change. I am usually in clinic so I may not be able to take your call straight away but I will be able to return your call if you leave a message. It may also be more convenient to send an email requesting a call back for a discussion about your current needs.

Beware! Holiday Blues
For many the holiday season is a happy time associated with family and friends, good food and celebration. But for others the holidays are marked with feelings of anxiety and depression. Although they may differ from clinical anxiety or depression they need to be taken seriously as they can lead to long-term mental health conditions.
Why not get in touch today to discuss how I can help you stay on top of the Holiday Blues.
